Our Physicians
Brian P. DuMais, M.D.
I am a lifelong resident of the area, having grown up in the Beverly
neighborhood of Chicago. After graduating from
Georgetown University
with a B.S. in Biology, I attended the
University of Illinois College of Medicine
at UIC. I trained in Pediatrics at
Advocate Hope Children's Hospital, where I served as Chief Resident during my third year. Upon completion
of my training in 2004, I worked for the neonatology group at Christ
Hospital. I established DuMais Pediatrics in 2005.
I became Board Certified in Pediatrics by the
American Board of Pediatrics
in 2004. I am an active member of the
American Academy of Pediatrics, and I hold appointments to the medical staffs of both Advocate Christ
Medical Center/Hope Children's Hospital, and Palos Community Hospital.
My philosophy of care is rooted in the relationship between myself as the
physician, and the patient and family. I believe that it is important that
this relationship is based on mutual trust and honesty. It is my goal to
listen carefully and to fully understand the concerns of the patient.
Well-child care is the cornerstone of pediatrics, and in my visits I focus
on growth and development and prevention of illness. When a child is sick,
I always do my best to see the child as soon as I can, and in most cases
can see the child on the same day.
